Chinese Calligraphy

with Tara Hu

Learn this beautiful and intricate art with Calligraphist Tara Hu who welcoming students of all levels.

Etching

with Doug Jamieson
Learn the traditional method of etching, whereby a drawing is transferred by hand, then chemically etched into a metal plate, and ultimately printed on paper using a press. In the tradition of Rembrandt, Goya, Whistler and Hopper. This medium is very fun and the process is full of wonderful surprises!

Beginning Pottery

Fabulous fun with Fibers

Start with a few fibers, a little wool and your piece of RECYCLED fabric to produce a fabulous "Green" Market bag! Learn the basics of wool felting and be environmentally concious at the same time.

KIDS ART

Imagination Improvisation!

All the world’s a stage and most of us are making up the lines! Sign up for the The Imagination Improvisation Show and learn how to come up with the best ones. Our 2 week acting workshop is taught by Franklin Stage actors Charlie Kevin and Ed Vasallo, who return for their 4th season engaging young people and encouraging creative freedom. Workshop culminates with a matinee performance on August 2nd at the Franklin Stage.

Clay Time for Kids

During this two hour class, school-aged children will experience creating and decorating several ceramic objects using multiple techniques. Kids will produce glazed and fired pieces to bring home all the while Mom and Dad are having a couple of hours to themselves. All skill & experience levels welcome.

Mylar Painting

Paint original works of art on a mylar surface.  Learn the secrets of transfering the work to paper, creating original monoprints.  No painting experience required.
